Ultraviolet Porsche 911 GT3 RS Poses With Pink Wheels Posted: 11 Nov 2017 03:57 AM PST Ultraviolet Purple is one of the wackiest colors offered by Porsche and works beautifully with the flowing design of the 911 GT3 RS. However, that doesn't mean the paint scheme can't be messed up with a set of wheels. The latest project from ADV.1 Wheels, this GT3 RS has been equipped with ADV5.2 M. V2 Advanced Series wheels measuring 20x9.5 at the front and 21x12.5 at the rear. With a Brushed Pink and Gloss Clear finish, they'd worked nicely with Paris Hilton's pink Bentley, but the same cannot be said about this 911. For starters, pink and purple simply do not go well together in a car. Secondly, the bright yellow brake calipers and RS logos across the sports car further clash with the wheels, creating a mish-mash of really awkward proportions. Fortunately, this GT3 RS isn't beyond repair. In fact, all it needs is for the wheels to be resprayed black, silver or grey and the car would be returned to its former glory. PHOTO GALLERY |
VW Up! Slated To Go EV Only, Could Gain Crossover Variant Posted: 11 Nov 2017 02:59 AM PST Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Volkswagen was considering pulling the plug on the pint-sized Up!. However, it appears the model might have been given a reprieve. Automobile is reporting the company was initially considering more exciting variants based on the existing PQ architecture or transitioning the model to the newer MQB platform. Volkswagen's passenger car boss, Dr. Herbert Diess, reportedly rejected both ideas as he thought the first plan would just result in the status quo while the MQB route would simply be too expensive. Instead, the executive reportedly suggested an alternative which would see the Up! and its siblings become available exclusively as electric vehicles. The new models will reportedly be positioned as a Smart competitor and be loosely based on the existing e-Up!. The decision to base the model on the existing EV will cut costs and the car will reportedly benefit from knowledge learned during the development of the MEB platform that will underpin models such as the ID Buzz, ID Crozz, and ID Hatch. Both three- and five-door models are expected to return and they could eventually be joined by a crossover-inspired variant. Photo Gallery |
Mercedes-AMG E63 S Shows Widebody S63, GT-R How Its Done Posted: 11 Nov 2017 01:54 AM PST There's always something tremendously satisfying about watching certain cars dispatch their more extravagant and expensive siblings in a straight line. It's probably because it upsets the status quo, sort of how you feel when the underdog wins the match, aka the Rocky Balboa effect. So if you actually own an S63 Coupe, you probably won't take too kindly to knowing how the cheaper and less glamorous E-Class has surpassed your car when it comes to performance. Still, you can't bargain with progress, as newer tech always comes out on top. The new E63 AMG S is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, putting down 612 PS (604 HP) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. It can race to 100 km/h (62 mph) in as little as 3.4 seconds. Meanwhile, the heavier S63 Coupe (without the facelift) needs 3.9 seconds, sending 585 PS (578 HP) and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of torque to its all-wheel drive system. Since this drag racing event wasn't open to just Mercedes-badged cars, the E63 got to stretch its wings against a few other supercars, putting on an overall good show for the fans. VIDEO |
If Mitsubishi Made A Mirage Out Of A Micra Posted: 11 Nov 2017 12:55 AM PST After joining the Renault-Nissan Alliance, Mitsubishi is looking to renew its lineup, and besides a new generation Outlander, they're also interested in a more modern supermini. Source claim that this job has fallen onto the Mirage, which will be replaced by an entirely new generation within the next couple of years. It has been reported that it will share the same architecture as the next Renault Clio and Nissan Micra, sporting a range of three- and four-cylinder engines, some of which will be familiar, as they will be divided between the Dacia and Smart brands as well. This should help Mitsubishi's next supermini become a more viable challenger to the likes of the Peugeot 208, Opel/Vauxhall Corsa, and others. And while we know what its foundation stone will be, not much has been reported about its design - yet. However, Photoshop artist Kleber Silva came up with a very cost- and time-effective idea, both for...himself and Mitsubishi: re-branding the current Nissan Micra into a Mirage with a face borrowed from the latest Outlander. We're hoping Mitsubishi will do more than that when time comes to present its Mirage replacement. PHOTO GALLERY |

Lamborghini Huracan Performante Is One Heck Of A Thrill Ride Posted: 10 Nov 2017 08:05 PM PST The Lamborghini Huracan Performante may have been defeated on the Nurburgring by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, but that doesn't mean that it's any less exciting than it was when it broke cover in Geneva. Building upon the LP610-4, it comes with some weight saving, clever aerodynamics, and extra power, all of which work together to make it the most track-focused, street-legal version of the supercar. There's only a minor difference between the two variants of the Huracan, on a straight line at least, as the Performante is 0.1sec faster from 0 to 100km/h (62mph), while top speed remains unchanged, at over 325km/h (202mph). However, throw them on a winding road, or on a track, and the former 'Ring King will always come out in front, with the right person behind the wheel, and that alone is enough for the Italian company to ask at least $274,390 for each example, in the USA. Now, you can imagine sitting in the driver's seat, and taking it out on a backcountry road, where you won't be bothered by the annoying traffic, most of the time, so you can focus solely on the driving part. And while you're at it, you should take a look at the video posted below, because it provides just that. VIDEO |
BMW M6 GT3 Evo Racing Package Will Cost You At Least $29,000 Posted: 10 Nov 2017 07:38 PM PST Now that the M6 GT3 Evo package is ready for production, BMW Motorsport customer teams can finally start putting in their orders. The package includes upgrades to the suspension, drivetrain, brakes and aerodynamics, and is said to ensure improved drivability while also boosting reliability. "We are pleased to be able to offer our customer teams the announced Evo package for the BMW M6 GT3 with immediate effect. This will allow them to prepare their cars perfectly for the 2018 season," said BMW Motorsport boss, Jens Marquardt. "Our engineers have optimized numerous areas of the BMW M6 GT3. They have ensured that the BMW M6 GT3 will be even easier to drive in the future, particularly for amateur/gentlemen drivers. In our opinion, this drivability, together with performance and durability, is the greatest asset for a customer racing car." With the Evo package, BMW hopes to build on the M6 GT3's already successful career, in which it has managed multiple victories such as its triumph at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium last year. The package is available in two variants, one priced at €24,900 (US$28,900), the other at €31,900 (US$37,100) excluding VAT. |
Tuned BMW M3 Impresses During 1/2 Mile Race Posted: 10 Nov 2017 07:03 PM PST With the likes of the McLaren 720S, Dodge Demon and Huracan Performante hugging all the spotlight, older icons such as the BMW M3 are starting to look like unsung heroes. Take this one for example, a modified F80 M3 whose heart beats to the tune of 590 HP and 810 Nm (597 lb-ft) of torque. That's more torque, and almost as much horsepower as the all-new 2018 M5. Yet, the M3 is lighter than an M5, which is good news for the owner of this car, because he managed to put up some pretty impressive numbers during a recent 1/2 mile event in Germany. Aside from looking pretty and sounding angry thanks to its decatted titanium exhaust system, the car managed to cover the 1/2 mile in 18.85 seconds, reaching a top speed of 258.11 km/h (160.38 mph). To put this into perspective, imagine that it's close to what you'd be able to do with a stock Ferrari F12berlinetta. In fact, it's not far off the pace of other exotics like the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 either. VIDEO |
Ford CEO Says Dumb Cars Have No Future, Only Smart Ones Will Survive Posted: 10 Nov 2017 06:34 PM PST Ford CEO Jim Hackett feels that once the roadways become connected, only the "smart" will survive as future cars will rely heavily on brainpower to function. Hackett is pushing to accelerate Ford's move into connected, electric and autonomous fields, trying to reverse a three-year stock slide with investors perceiving the blue oval as currently trailing behind GM, reports Autonews. "Ford's future is not about giving up the car," said Hackett at the Michigan CEO Summit in Detroit. He then added that there are "no dumb cars in the future." This year, GM shares have gone up by 21%, whereas Ford has fallen 0.6% - the latter remains dependent on profits from big truck sales. However, moving forward, Ford is hoping that new mobility areas will start paying dividends. "We have to evolve these things to be ever smarter," added Hackett, mentioning how cars in the future will be able to see things that humans can't. "For a while, we didn't see the computer as an integrated aspect. Now, think about it, my vehicle is a rolling computer." PHOTO GALLERY |
Mercedes-AMG S63 Slammed, Stanced And Boosted Posted: 10 Nov 2017 06:00 PM PST The whole purpose of buying a Mercedes-Benz S-Class is to enjoy its luxury features, and, in the case of the AMG versions, its brutal power as well. However, there are always owners unsatisfied with the way their rides look and handle, so they turn to various tuners to pump new blood into their cars, and/or strap some aftermarket parts to the bodies. Inden Design is one of many companies offering a bundle of upgrades for Mercedes. Here, they're focusing on the Mercedes-AMG S63, which now makes 700PS (690hp), after receiving the an MKB ECU tune, and a Capristo valve exhaust with an electronic control system. The height adjustable control module, operable via the steering wheel, is also worth mentioning, as are the 10x22-inch front and 12x22-inch rear wheels, made by Inden Design and shod in 265/30 and 315/25 tires, respectively. The German tuner has made the S63 50mm (nearly 2in) wider than the stock model thanks to the enlarged fenders, while also giving it new rocker panels and a rear diffuser with Black Series-inspired tailpipes. Inden Design doesn't say how much these upgrades cost, but given the original price of the car - €238,000 ($276,511), expect to pay a pretty penny. PHOTO GALLERY |
Reckless Overtaking Maneuver Ends In Pain Posted: 10 Nov 2017 05:30 PM PST It's bad enough to risk passing another vehicle when the coast is not clear, but making things worse by not halting your attempt and forcing the overtake is inexcusable. This incident was captured on dashcam last week, and shows a station wagon going off-road in order to complete overtaking a bunch of slower semi trucks. That's when the driver lost control of the car and ended up underneath the trailer of one of those semis. It was also a close call for the dashcam car, which had to leave the road in order to avoid a collision with the skidding wagon. The driver of an old Peugeot 3008 wasn't as lucky, as he got clipped by the out of control car. Thankfully the Peugeot didn't hit anything else, and simply spun before coming to a halt. While we hope that nobody was harmed, and this includes whoever was inside of that rogue station wagon, we still need to condemn the person behind the wheel for their reckless actions. VIDEO |
What Makes Mercedes-AMG's Engines Special? Posted: 10 Nov 2017 05:02 PM PST If you're lucky enough to own an AMG-powered car, one of the things you'll appreciate most about it is the attention to detail. In most cases, Mercedes-AMG cars are things you can live with on a day to day basis, providing you with all the luxuries and comfort a regular Mercedes-Benz has to offer, but with a lot more power on tap. It's no wonder the company prides itself with the very process it uses in order to build its engines - which are assembled manually by a single AMG master technician. As it turns out, these technicians are also pretty proud of what they do, feeling honored to have their names and signature on each power unit. AMG currently builds a wide range of engines for Mercedes-Benz flagship models, from 2.0-liter turbocharged inline fours, to the 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo, the 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo, 6.0-liter V12 bi-turbo and the newer 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo launched back in 2015. Mercedes has held a controlling interest in AMG ever since 1999, then became sole owner of the company in 2005. VIDEO |
Timeless 1970s Jaguar XJ Coupe Gets A Classy Makeover Posted: 10 Nov 2017 04:31 PM PST The two-door Jaguar XJ Coupe enjoyed a relatively limited run fro, 1975 to 1978, and is now one of the rarest XJ models you can find. With that in mind, fans of the British automotive industry probably don't want to see one wearing fender extensions, a wing, heavily modded interior and so on. But fear not, Carlex Design did not one those things. This car looks just as good now as it did back in the mid-to-late 1970s when it first rolled off the assembly line. More importantly, the Polish tuner managed to upgrade the cabin without changing the overall aesthetic. For starters, the seats now feature high quality black leather, with the tuner's logo embroidered into the material. Furthermore, the dashboard, door panels and center console have been detailed to look more elegant than ever, while staying true to the car's original design. Last but not least, the badge on the steering wheel features gold inserts, matching the analogue clock casing on the console. PHOTO GALLERY |
New McLaren 720S Is Different And That's A Good Thing Posted: 10 Nov 2017 04:00 PM PST We've been waiting for an in-depth review on the McLaren 720S for some time now, a car that has exceeded any and all expectations since its launch earlier this year. If you're familiar with Doug DeMuro, you know that's the type of review he usually puts together, (over) analyzing all the features and quirks you might find on a car, taking all categories into account. What does this mean for the McLaren 720S? Well, as it turns out, reigning on top of every other supercar in the world is hard work, as DeMuro questioned the 720S' quality and overall value, while arguing that in his eyes, it's not as good-looking as a 488 Spider. However he did give praise to McLaren for trying to differentiate the 720S from the rest of their range. Another negative, if we can call it that, is the fact that the steering on the 720S is just a tad less responsive than on a Lamborghini Huracan, though overall, there were no real complaints in that department. Looking at performance alone, the 720S is almost flawless considering its segment. Not only is it one of the fastest-accelerating cars in the world, it's also one of the quickest cars out there once you get it up to speed, thanks in part to its excellent aerodynamic features. Ford Pulls The Plug On The C-Max Energi Posted: 10 Nov 2017 03:10 PM PST Ford has quietly pulled the plug on the C-Max Energi. Speaking with Green Car Reports, Ford's North American Car Communications Manager confirmed the model has already gone out of production. Dan Jones went on to say the C-Max Hybrid will continue to be built until the middle of next year. While Ford originally had high hopes for the C-Max, it was never really a strong seller. According to Carsalesbase, sales peaked in 2013 when the company sold 35,210 units in the United States but they quickly dropped from there. Last year, the company only sold 19,834 units which pales in comparison to the 98,863 Toyota Prius models that were sold. Most people won't miss the C-Max but the hybrid variant starts at $24,120 and has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle and a small electric motor that is powered by a 1.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. This setup enables the car to produce a combined output of 188 hp (140 kW) and return an EPA-estimated 42 mpg city / 38 mpg highway / 40 mpg combined. The C-Max Energi, on the other hand, was a plug-in hybrid which cost $27,120. Its powertrain largely carried over but it was equipped with a larger 7.6 kWh battery that enabled the model to travel up to 20 miles (32 km) on electricity alone. Photo Gallery |
Lotus CEO Says Its New Generation Of Sports Cars Will Be Very Different From Today's Models Posted: 10 Nov 2017 02:30 PM PST Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales has revealed the company will present a new 10-year plan in 2018. Speaking with Top Gear, Gales said the plan will include some pretty drastic changes including embracing electrification. The executive went on to say company needs to "adapt to changing homologation laws" and stated the "sports cars we show in the next three years will be different to the ones we're building now." The company's plan will reportedly kick off in 2020 when Lotus unveils an all-new vehicle. Little is known about the car but Gales confirmed they will be looking into Geely's parts bin to see if there are any suitable components they can use on their vehicles. Despite the push for new models, the executive said the company will continue building the Elise and Exige for as "long as we're allowed to make them." However, he doesn't intend to do this indefinitely as Gales told the publication "we do not want to become a Caterham and build the same car for 30 years." One the biggest changes will be the introduction of the company's first crossover. Gales wasn't ready to talk specifics but confirmed the model will be lower, wider, and lighter than anything else on the market. Photo Gallery |
You Can Virtually Explore BMW’s New X2 With Microsoft’s HoloLens Posted: 10 Nov 2017 02:14 PM PST BMW and Microsoft have teamed up to create a unique promotional experience to celebrate the launch of the X2. The promotion centers on a mixed reality application called the BMW X2 Holo Experience. It runs on the Microsoft HoloLens and allows users to experience "fun challenges" such as guiding the crossover out of a maze or giving the model a unique paint job. The X2 Holo Experience will be available at select BMW dealerships as well as private events and BMW brand experience centers. Visitors will be able to take a holographic selfie with the car and then take a test drive of the real model. According to BMW communications boss Uwe Dreher, "The X2 will appeal to a relatively new, young and digitally-savvy target group that is also looking for unique and contemporary experiences from communications. The Holo Experience delivers the desired technical wow-effect, which we hope will maximize our appeal to this target group in a fun and entertaining way, using innovative technology." The BMW X2 was unveiled last month and it resembles a large hatchback instead of a traditional crossover. In Europe, the model will be offered with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine that develops 192 PS (141 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) of torque as well as a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with outputs of 190 PS (140 kW) and 231 PS (170 kW). U.S. customers can look forward to a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 228 hp (170 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. VideoPhoto Gallery |
Alfa Romeo Giulia Could Get A High-Output Veloce Model With 350 HP Posted: 10 Nov 2017 05:56 PM PST The Alfa Romeo Giulia is offered with two engines in the United States but it appears there will be a new variant to slot between the entry-level model and the range-topping Quadrifoglio. According to automotive journalist Bozi Tatarevic, FCA's service site is now showing the 2018 Giulia with a high-output turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The listing shows the engine produces 350 hp (261 kW) which would slot it nicely between the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 280 hp (208 kW) and the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 with 505 hp (376 kW). Little else is known about the engine but it should be noted the listing shows global service information and the entry includes the Giulia's 2.2-liter diesel engine which isn't offered stateside. As a result, it doesn't necessarily mean the high-output engine will be available in the U.S. Car and Driver reached out to Alfa Romeo USA and was told there are "No plans for any other engines for Giulia in North America for 2018 model year besides the 2.0L and 2.9L versions." However, as the publication notes, Alfa Romeo didn't say anything about the 2019 Giulia. Photo Gallery

Dodge Begins Shipping the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon Posted: 10 Nov 2017 01:00 PM PST The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is finally headed to dealerships and eager customers. Saying "Ready or not, we don't care," Dodge confirmed it began shipping the Demon earlier today and it will soon arrive in the hands of 3,300 customers. Unveiled at the New York Auto Show, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is billed as the "industry's first and only purpose-built, street-legal production drag car." It features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces up to 840 hp (626 kW) and 770 lb-ft (1042 Nm) of torque. The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph (225 km/h). Pricing starts at $84,995 and each model comes with a leather-bound track tech manual written by the editors of Hot Rod magazine. Customers can also order Demon Authentication Package which costs $1 and includes the car's build sheet, an archive portfolio, and a carbon-fiber card that features the owner's name, vehicle VIN, serial number, and production option sales codes. Perhaps the coolest option is the Demon Crate which enables the car to unlock its full potential. Priced from $1, the package includes a performance powertrain control module with a high-octane engine calibration, a conical air filter, front-runner drag wheels, and a passenger mirror block-off plate. The package also includes a number of tools such as a hydraulic floor jack, an impact wrench, and a torque wrench. VideoPhoto Gallery |
Let Lamborghini's Design Boss Introduce You To The Terzo Millennio Concept Posted: 10 Nov 2017 12:39 PM PST Lamborghini have proved to the world, once again, that they can successfully encapsulate their decades-long history into a futuristic concept, with their latest study called Terzo Millennio. Developed together with MIT and presented to the world at EmTech 2017 earlier this week, the Italian study is now being slightly detailed on video, although not quite as some of you might expect. But what does that mean? Well, in short, don't get your hopes up to see it being put through its paces on a winding road, as the short film shows the brand's chief of design, Mitja Borkert, talking about it, and introducing it to viewers, while the wraps quietly come off. 'Quiet' is a word used best to describe its powertrain too, as it comprises of four electric motors, powered by supercapacitors, with energy storage devices built within its body panels. This setup is said to provide fast charging times, but Lamborghini wasn't eager to go into specifics just yet. Besides offering a glimpse into the future of the Italian car marque, the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio is also providing an insight into the idea of a zero-emission Lamborghini, one that eventually needs to happen to keep the company afloat. Wheelsandmore Tunes Up Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster To 670HP Posted: 10 Nov 2017 12:12 PM PST It may be shot in white and black, reminiscent of times long gone, but there's nothing classic about this Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster. In fact, it's very modern, and it has as much power as the Ferrari 488 Spider, which sits in a different league, after graduating from the Wheelsandmore academy. In its most potent form, the German sports car turned super pushes an amazing 670hp and 821Nm (606lb-ft) of torque, which represents and additional 123hp and 140Nm (103lb-ft) of torque over the stock model. If this feels like too much, then you could always choose Stage 1 and 2, which get 590hp and 626hp in total, respectively. The name of the company is Wheelsandmore, so they have also covered the 'wheels' part with a set of ultraconcave design F.I.W.E. rims, measuring 9x21- and 12.5x21-inch front and rear, shod in 245/30 and 325/25 Michelin Pilot Supersport tires. Making this Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster appear even more dramatic are the satin black finish, and height-adjustable springs, which can be replaced with a coilover suspension made by KW for enhanced track performance. Google Starts Using Maps To Show Pollution Levels Across LA Posted: 10 Nov 2017 11:45 AM PST In recent years, Google Maps has changed the way we look at the world, allowing anyone with internet access to explore every square inch of the planet we call home. However, Google has started to use its service for more, mapping out pollution levels in cities, starting with Los Angeles. The technology company recently partnered with air-quality sensor producer Aclima to create a virtual map of pollution throughout the City of Angels. In the past two years, two specially-equipped Google Street View cars have driven more than 100,000 miles for over 4,000 hours to collect and analyze 1 billion hyperlocal air pollution data points, Co Design reports. Results from the pilot study have just been released, depicting areas of pollution on a heat map, with yellow representing high pollution and blue representing low pollution. The maps show that LA's highest areas of pollution are its major highways and streets. Google intends to continue collecting air quality data in California, and ultimately hopes to scale up its efforts. VIDEO |
Stunning 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 Could Sell For Over $1 Million Posted: 10 Nov 2017 11:21 AM PST A pristine white 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 will cross the auction block at RM Sotheby's New York sale in December and is expected to sell for between $1.1 million and $1.4 million. Sources vary on how many 993-generation 911 GT2s left Porsche's factory but we understand this is just one of 57 units produced. This GT2 was originally specified for Germany with the optional stronger battery, tinted windscreen, air conditioning, power windows, front airbags and no radio. Since leaving the factory, however, the car has been equipped with a radio and Clubsport steering wheel. RM Sotheby's says the car was acquired by a customer in Japan about 13 years ago and has 11,470 km on the odometer. It retains the original tool roll, jack, air compressor, and space-saver spare tire and has been "meticulously maintained." PHOTO GALLERY |
GM's Latest SUV, The Wuling Hong Guang S3, Costs Less Than $9,000 Posted: 10 Nov 2017 10:55 AM PST If you live in China, for a mere RMB 56,800, which comes out to just $8,558 at the current exchange rates, you could get GM's latest SUV, the Wuling Hong Guang S3. This makes it more affordable than the entry-level Ford Fiesta on our side of the pond, and it stays that way even in its range-topping guise, which can be had at RMB 81,800 ($12,325). However, there's a major catch here, because the Wuling Hong Guang S3 is a China-only vehicle, made by the automotive giant's local joint venture, SAIC-GM-Wuling, so don't expect to see it in Western markets, not now, not ever. For what it's worth, the Wuling Hong Guang S3 has an exterior design reminiscent of old Chevys and Daewoos, but it has been adorned with LED DRLs integrated on the sides of the front bumper, fog lamps, and a floating-style roofline. Inside it gets a clean layout, with dual-tone leather trim depending on the selected grade, an 8-inch LCD screen, large electronic instrument display, and a quartz clock, for what the automaker describes as an added "sense of luxury". It has a 2+2+3 seating layout, and all three rows of seats have their own air-conditioning vents and USB ports. 2018 Infiniti QX80 Facelift Revealed With More Upscale Design Posted: 10 Nov 2017 01:19 PM PST Infiniti has given us an early glimpse at the 2018 QX80, ahead of its debut at the Dubai International Motor Show on November 14. Previewed by the QX80 Monograph concept, the facelifted QX80 has a more upscale appearance as it features a new front fascia with a more prominent grille. The SUV has also been equipped with new headlights, revised air intakes, and less gaudy front fender vents. Out back, there are restyled taillights and an updated rear bumper. The tailgate has also been redesigned and features a single strip of chrome trim. 20-inch wheels will come standard but 22-inch wheels will be also be available. Unfortunately, the interior largely carries over and isn't that much different from the Nissan Armada. Despite the déjà vu design, drivers will find new wood trim, redesigned cup holders, and revised instrument panel lighting. Infiniti also added additional insulation, black carpeting, and an updated rear seat entertainment system with larger displays. As reported by Car&Driver, power reportedly comes from a familiar 5.6-liter V8 engine that produces 400 hp (298 kW) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed automatic transmission which can be paired to an optional four-wheel drive system. Post has been updated with official images. Thanks to Omar for the tip!
