Lamborghini Urus Partially Reveals Its V8 Engine In New Teaser

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 04:30 AM PST

Lamborghini is calling the Urus a "game changer", and "an excellent base for the future" in yet another teaser video.

Nevertheless, the words of the brand's Chief Project Management Officer, Matteo Ortenzi, who briefly talks about their upcoming product, are eclipsed by the SUV's V8 engine, which is partially visible for a few good seconds.

The Italian automaker hasn't released any details about the Urus' powertrain yet, but it is thought to use a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 unit with roughly 650hp, allowing for a top speed in excess of 300km/h (186mph).

Later on, the Lamborghini Urus will reportedly welcome a second powertrain, which will also be friendlier to the environment, as it's expected to benefit from plug-in hybrid technology.

This latest teaser follows yet another one, released last week, which shows the SUV having some fun on the sand, using a new driving mode called Sabbia, which is Italian for 'sand'.

Lamborghini will pull the cover off the spiritual successor of the LM002 in just a few weeks, on December 4.

A New Bentley Supersports Is Only A Matter Of Time... And Muscle

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 03:57 AM PST

The Bentley Continental GT has yielded more variants and trim levels than we would care to count. When Bentley released the second-generation model in 2011, it hit "reset" on the whole line. Now that the all-new model is upon us, it's all bound to start again.

There'll be coupes and convertibles, eight-cylinder models and twelve, with various levels of output. But the one we're looking forward to most is the one previewed here.

Rendered by one Nikita Aksyonov, these renderings forecast the next Continental Supersports – the most powerful version of Bentley's prolific two-door model line.

The first Continental Supersports surfaced in 2009, its 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 tuned to deliver 621 horsepower for a 3.7-second 0-62 time and a top speed in excess of 204 miles per hour. The second arrived just last year, with 700 hp, a 3.5-second 0-62 time, and a 209-mph top speed.

Given that the new Continental GT already produces 626 hp, hits 62 in 3.6 seconds, and tops out at 207, we wouldn't be surprised to see the new Supersports crack 750 hp, 0-62 in the low threes, and a top speed of over 210 mph. All this from a vehicle weighing a good 5,000 pounds, no less.

The Jeep Wrangler Has Changed More Since WWII Than You Might Think

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 03:33 AM PST

Cars and trucks change over time. Such is the relentless march of progress in the automotive industry especially. But some change more than others.

We might tend to think of the Jeep Wrangler (and its forebears) as having remained pretty consistent over the years, and in many ways it can. But watching this latest clip, we were struck by just how much it's changed.

The animated video is the latest in Donut Media's Evolution series, which has recently profiled everything from the Honda Civic and Nissan Skyline to the Porsche 911 and BMW 3 Series.

This time the focus is on Jeep's most iconic model line – a timely release considering that the all-American off-road brand is just now rolling out an all-new Wrangler that's poised to carry the line into a more advanced, more economical future.

McLaren's Bringing This Custom Black & Gold 720S To Dubai

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 03:04 AM PST

The Persian Gulf is a vital market for exotic automakers – not least for McLaren, which is out to make a splash at this year's Dubai Motor Show with this one-of-a-kind 720S.

Commissioned by a local client, this 720S has been extensively personalized by McLaren Special Operations with a satin black paintjob and gold trim. But that's just the start.

The rear wing is inscribed with an Arabic translation of a quote from the company's namesake founder Bruce McLaren: "Life is measured in achievement, not in years alone." The script is stylized to emulate the Dubai skyline, and like the wheels and interior trim, is done up in gold tone to stand out from the matte black background.

The buyer also specified an array of carbon-fiber components, including the front splitter, air intakes, roof panel, wing mirror arms, engine cover, and rear deck, wing, bumper, and diffuser. And like the legendary McLaren F1, the engine bay is lined in gold heat shielding – actual 24-karat gold, in this case.

Inside there's even more carbon and gold trim pieces to go with the black leather and Alcantara upholstery, with a "1 of 1" plaque to identify this as a unique creation. The vehicle will be on display until the owner takes delivery at the close of the show from McLaren Dubai.

Jaguar Offering Up To $30,000 In Discounts For F-Type

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 01:33 AM PST

Jaguar is offering a number of generous discounts for the F-Type, presumably in an attempt to clear out 2017 stock.

Cars Direct has discovered that a dealer cash incentive has been introduced by the British marque, allowing dealerships to offer up to $30,000 off the MSRP for the potent F-Type SVR model. A discount of up to $20,000 is also being offered for the R while there is a $10,000 incentive available for V6 models.

Importantly, it is the dealer's prerogative as to whether or not it passes on these incentives to customers. One dealership already advertising a heavily discounted F-Type SVR AWD is Jaguar Louisville, pricing the performance car at just $100,533, a full $30,000 off the MSRP.

The aforementioned offers are set to expire on January 2, 2018.

Toyota Says ICEs Will Die By 2050

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 12:02 AM PST

Toyota says the internal combustion engine will be dead by 2050 and become far less common than electric powertrains by 2040.

In an interview with Autocar, Toyota's head of advanced R&D and engineering, Seigo Kuzumaki, said clampdowns on CO2 emissions will force car manufacturers to fully embrace electrification.

"We expect that by 2050 we will have reduced CO2 emissions from vehicles by 90% compared to the figure in 2010. To achieve that from 2040 simple internal combustion engined cars will not be made, but they may be the basis of some hybrid or plug-in hybrid cars," he said.

One important part in Toyota's long-term EV plans will be its adoption of advanced solid-state batteries.

The brand's first all-electric vehicle will arrive in 2020 with traditional lithium-ion batteries. However, Toyota says it will be able to productionize solid-state batteries by the early 2020s, allowing its EVs to offer exceptional range and fast-charging.

"We hold more patents on solid-state batteries than any other company. We are getting close to developing cars using the technology, and we believe that we will be ahead of our rivals in achieving that," he revealed.

EV Tax Credit May Not Be Scrapped After All

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 08:42 PM PST

The EV tax credit offered to consumers in the United States might not be scrapped after all.

Last week, House Republicans proposed the removal of the tax credit on December 31st this year. However, South Dakota Republican Senator John Joeven has informed the Financial Post that a revised version of the tax bill proposes to retain the $7,500 credit.

The tax credit is believed to be a significant factor as to why sales of electric vehicles are on the rise in the United States. Despite this, few carmakers have made much of an effort to retain the credit throughout discussions this week.

The reason for this, as Automotive News notes, is quite simple. Under the new tax bill, the corporate tax rate would fall from 35 per cent to 20 per cent, essentially gifting major automakers tens of millions of dollars every year. Eager to see such a tax cut passed into law, companies appear to resistant to also call for the tax credit to be retained.

In fact, in a letter from a Ford spokeswoman Christin Baker, no mention was made about attempting to keep the credit.

"Our focus in tax reform is on key elements that will help put American companies on a level playing field globally. We will continue to promote electrification through other policy initiatives."

While some carmakers are remaining quiet on the potential changes, a handful of U.S. utility companies insist on the credit remaining in place.

"We support credits and incentives, and see them as a key piece of the equation when it comes to fostering the continued growth and development of the market for EVs, along with the continued build out of charging infrastructure," a spokesman from California's largest utility firm, PG&E, said.

Jaguar F-Pace SVR Gets Put Through Its Paces

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 08:04 PM PST

Eager to cash in on demand for its sleek F-Pace SUV, Jaguar is developing a performance-focused variant, expected to adopt the SVR badge.

Filmed during testing on a number of occasions throughout the past 12 months, the F-Pace SVR promises to scare rivals, including the Porsche Macan Turbo and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

To do so, Jaguar Land Rover will install its familiar 5.0-liter supercharged V8, inevitably delivering over 500 hp and potentially as much as 550 hp. Such grunt should enable the SUV to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in roughly 4 seconds.

This particular prototype can be distinguished from others seen in the past as its hood has large air extractors and there's a bespoke rear bumper and quad tailpipe setup. The V8 also sounds very familiar, although it doesn't have all the cracks and pops provided by V8-powered F-Type models.

Expect to see the Jaguar F-Pace SVR in the first half of 2018.

Musk Says Tesla Semi Will "Blow Your Mind Clear Out Of Your Skull"

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 07:32 PM PST

Ahead of the Tesla semi-truck premiering on November 16, Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to talk up his latest creation.

Discussing the truck, Musk said "This will blow your mind clear out of your skull and into an alternate dimension." Fortunately, we've already seen the Tesla semi in full and can confidently say that our minds weren't blown in any significant way.

The debut of the Tesla semi will come at a difficult time for the electric carmaker, currently in "production hell" trying to fulfil its promises about the entry-level Model 3.

Our intel suggests that the semi will have an all-electric range of between 200 and 300 miles, roughly the same as Daimler's E-Fuso Vision One, ironically unveiled on October 25, the day before the Tesla semi was originally going to be introduced to the world.

Fisker Secures Patent For Advanced Solid-State Battery Tech

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 07:03 PM PST

Fisker has filed patents for advanced flexible solid-state battery technology which it asserts could drastically change the automotive industry.

The company, currently in the process of preparing the EMotion for its global premiere at CES 2018, says it has developed solid-state battery technology that involves the construction of bulk three-dimensional solid-state electrodes with up to 25 times more surface area than other solid-state electrodes. This technology could deliver 2.5 times the energy density of a typical lithium-ion battery and cost just one-third the price by 2020.

Development of the technology is still in its infancy but when it's finished, potentially after 2030, it could result in an all-electric car with a range exceeding 500 miles (800 km) that could be recharged in as little as one minute.

Fisker initially planned to launch the EMotion with advanced graphene battery cells. However, supplier Nanotech Energy, backed away from the deal, forcing Henrik Fisker's company to switch to cylindrical lithium-ion NCM chemistry cells developed by LG Chem, a leading South Korean supplier.

While Fisker's solid-state batteries remain years away from production, the company will demonstrate the technology at CES 2018 in January.

Faraday Future Reportedly Receives $900 Million From Tata

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 06:33 PM PST

After months of turmoil, it appears as though electric car startup Faraday Future has caught a huge break following a healthy investment from Tata Motors.

Chinese media outlet Gasgoo claims that the carmaker has attracted $900 million in funding from Tata Motors for a 10 per cent stake in the company, essentially valuing it at $9 billion.

While neither firm has commented on the reports, such an investment could prove fruitful for both carmakers. Not only could such a substantial chunk of money keep Faraday Future above water, it could also give Tata access to many of FF's advanced technologies, including connectivity systems it has developed with Chinese backer LeEco.

Just a couple of days after unveiling its first proposed production model, the FF 91, Faraday claimed it had received over 64,000 reservations but failed to reveal how many of those orders included the optional $5,000 refundable deposit.

Yesterday, reports surfaced that the startup has lost five key executives in recent weeks.

Old Mercedes E63 S Estate Needs 600+ HP To Keep Up With 2018 Flagship

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 06:06 PM PST

In order for the old AMG-powered E63 S to contend with the brand new model, over 600 horses needed to be injected into the mix.

When stock, the old E63 S was good for 585 PS (577 HP) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque, leading it from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds, or 3.7 seconds for the Estate, which is relevant in our case.

The 2018 E63 S on the other hand packs 612 PS (604 HP) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque straight from the factory, enough to hit the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark in just 3.3 seconds.

We already knew the newer car was quicker in a straight line, both on paper as well as in a real life test. Although, if you wondered how the two would compare if the old E63 S came with a bit more power, you'll find that this video provides an answer.

The car in question (an E63 S Estate) is said to put down over 600 horses, which should at least give it a better chance of keeping up. Also, the two AMGs raced from a rolling start, which simplified matters since neither had to worry about losing traction.

This Volvo Concept Will Take Care Of You While Driving

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 05:40 PM PST

The car of the future won't just be emissions-free, fully-autonomous and extremely safe. It will also be able to take care of the people onboard.

Numerous automakers have started experimenting with vehicles that can monitor and improve your health, including Hyundai. Taking inspiration from this slowly-emerging trend, artist Maximilian Troicher has created what he dubs the Volvo Care Concept.

The Care Concept has been designed as a small two-door city car which Volvo could create to care for its employees. As such, the interior of the concept has been designed to cater for the individual needs of the user.

For example, the cabin aims to offer active driving experiences, physical relaxation, and infotainment systems. Users could, therefore, alter their experience within the car depending on whether they want to do the driving themselves or would rather give the car complete control and enjoy the journey from the comfortable passenger seat.

The exterior of the design mimics the vehicle's caring personality, incorporating a large windscreen that stretches from the roof right to the top of the front bumper.

Aventador-Based Kode 0 Stops By Jay Leno’s Garage

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 04:48 PM PST

Ken Okuyama's latest creation, called the Kode 0, might look like something out of a sci-fi film but it's actually a proper, road-legal supercar specifically made for a customer.

Okuyama took inspiration from the supercars of the past, trying to create a clean wedge-shaped supercar like the original Lamborghini Countach.

The Kode 0 is based on the Lamborghini Aventador but the bodywork employs some really clever ideas that completely change the proportions of the donor vehicle and making it truly unique.

The powertrain however remains completely stock, meaning a 6.5-liter V12 with 700PS and 690Nm of torque, mated to a single-clutch gearbox. Given the lighter bodywork, the Kode 0 should be quicker than a standard Aventador but hard figures was never the point of this creation.

Ken Okuyama brings the very impressive Kode 0 to Jay Leno's Garage, giving us some really juicy details.

Watch Car Spontaneously Flip Over In Bizarre Accident

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 04:22 PM PST

While these types of incidents might look mysterious at first, the culprit is almost always some type of cable or another type of obstruction that went unnoticed by the driver.

So no, there's no need to call Scooby Doo for this one, since the description of the video pretty much shuts down any wild theory that might have fired up the comments section.

Apparently, "a large construction vehicle had earlier damaged some power-lines. The vehicle that flipped must have somehow latched onto those downed power-lines to cause the flip."

Of course, from our angle, and because of the poor image quality, we really can't see any power lines, which just adds to the bizarre nature of the incident, which occurred in Moscow.

We also don't know anything about the status of the driver or any potential occupants, but we're hopeful injuries were kept at bay with the help of seat belts.

BMW i8 Roadster Teased, Will Be Less Efficient Than The Coupe

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 03:56 PM PST

The BMW i8 Roadster is expected to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month and the company has just released a new teaser video of the upcoming model.

While the clip doesn't show us the completed vehicle, it reveals the roadster will have a power retractable fabric roof and a small rear window.

The rest of the video doesn't show much but it includes some preliminary fuel economy data and which discloses that the roadster will have a combined fuel economy rating (with the assistance of the electric motor) of 2.1 L/100km (112 mpg US / 134 mpg UK) and combined CO2 emissions of 48 g/km. These are slightly worse numbers than the current i8 Coupe which returns 2.0 L/100km (117 mpg US / 141 mpg UK) and has CO2 emissions of 44 g/km.

BMW hasn't said much about the i8 Roadster but rumors have suggested the model could come with a larger lithium-ion battery that has a capacity of approximately 14 kWh. This would increase the model's EPA-estimated electric-only range beyond the 15 miles (24 km) that the coupe is currently rated for.

Besides the beefier battery, reports have suggested the car's powertrain could be upgraded to produce up to 420 hp (313 kW). Nothing is official as of yet but we'll likely find out soon enough.

Emirates Taps Jeremy Clarkson To Promote S-Class Inspired First Class Cabins

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 03:29 PM PST

Flying can be a stressful experience so Emirates Airline has enlisted the help of Mercedes-Benz to create a relaxing first class cabin which draws inspiration from the S-Class.

According to Mercedes, the partnership began in 2014 when teams from both companies meet each other in England and discussed the latest design trends and innovations. The aircraft interior designers were particularly impressed with the new S-Class and decided to incorporate some of its ideas and features into the first class cabins of its Boeing 777 fleet.

The end result has been designed to set "new standards in the aviation industry in terms of luxury and comfort." As part of this initiative, Emirates offers a fully enclosed first class suite which is spacious and offers unrivaled levels of privacy. Mercedes says the materials, workmanship, and controls were all inspired by the S-Class and they build on other innovations such as virtual windows and reclining zero-gravity seats.

As part of the partnership, passengers who are flying in the new first class cabins can be chauffeured to and from the Dubai airport in an S-Class.

In a statement, Emirates Airline President Sir Tim Clark said "We are extremely delighted with our new suite, which offers unprecedented levels of privacy, comfort and luxury. Our cooperation with Mercedes-Benz brings together two global brands, both of which stand for innovation, quality, luxury and comfort."

Mitsubishi's CEO Is Open To A New Sedan And Truck For The U.S.

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 03:00 PM PST

Mitsubishi's lineup in the United States is limited to the Mirage, Outlander, and Outlander Sport. Help is coming in the form of the Eclipse Cross and Outlander PHEV but sedans have largely been neglected.

In a recent interview with Automotive News, Mitsubishi CEO Osamu Masuko suggested that could change in the future as he still sees room for a sedan. However, the executive noted the company's strength comes from "SUVs and 4x4s" so that's where they are going to spend their resources.

Despite admitting a sedan isn't a huge priority, Masuko said becoming part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance has changed things and opened up new possibilities. The companies will begin using common platforms and powertrains after 2020 and the executive said "In that situation, I think there will be opportunities to introduce a Mitsubishi sedan in the U.S."

Masuko said there are no concrete plans for a sedan at the moment but he hinted any such vehicle "wouldn't be just a rebadge" as it would have a unique design and characteristics associated with Mitsubishi.

Given the popularity of pickups in the United States, Masuko was naturally asked about the possibility of offering one stateside. He said the company is focused on building smaller trucks for Asian and Middle Eastern countries but he would consider opportunities from within the Alliance. That could mean the company might eventually offer a version of the Nissan Frontier or Titan.

Saleen S1 Sports Car Headed To L.A. With 450 HP

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 02:31 PM PST

The Los Angeles Auto Show recently announced Saleen would unveil its latest vehicle at this year's event and it now appears the company will showcase the S1 sports car.

According to China Daily, Jiangsu Saleen Automotive Technology CEO Charles Wang confirmed the company's first model in China will be the S1 sports car and it will be launched at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The model will be a two-door coupe that features a turbocharged 2.3-liter engine that produces 450 hp (336 kW) and 425 lb-ft (577 Nm) of torque. Autoguide reports the engine will be four-cylinder sourced from Ford and it will enable the S1 to have a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).

Little else is known about the S1 but Car News China says the model was recently shown in China and is heavily influenced by the Artega GT. The model will reportedly have a carbon fiber body and Wang confirmed an "electric version will follow in 2018."

The S1 will be built at a new plant in Rugao, China and construction is slated to be finished by June. The factory will reportedly be able to build up to 150,000 vehicles annually. That sounds like a lot of capacity for a sports car but Wang confirmed the company intends to follow in the footsteps of Porsche and "produce all sorts of passenger cars including sedans, SUVs and crossovers."

Massachusetts Police Bust Driver With Fake License Plate Made From A Pizza Box

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 02:04 PM PST

Most Americans can no longer afford to purchase a new vehicle and it doesn't help that after the initial purchase drivers are forced to shell out even more for registration fees, plate fees, and insurance coverage.

One driver in Massachusetts thought they could get around these inconveniences by simply making their own license plate and hoping no one would notice it said "Mass" instead of Massachusetts. Unfortunately, police in the town of Hopkinton noticed a few things wrong with the driver's plate as the department noted it was created from a cardboard pizza box and had letters written in magic marker.

Unsurprisingly, the driver was pulled over and hit with a variety of different charges including operating an uninsured vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, and attaching "fake homemade" plates.

According to Value Penguin, operating a vehicle without insurance in Massachusetts is a civil infraction and could cost the driver a fine of up to $5,000, up to a year in jail, and the loss of their driving privileges for a year. Given that the driver owns a late model Buick Century, the fees from this stunt could end up costing more than the car is worth.

14 Cars Damaged In Crazy Chain Reaction Crash On The Nurburgring

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 01:33 PM PST

The Nürburgring has seen plenty of accidents over the years and a video recently uploaded to Facebook shows how quickly a minor incident can spiral out of control.

Road & Track reports the chain reaction crash occurred on November 1st when Porsche 911 GT3 RS blew a coolant line on the Hatzenbach section of the track.

As you can see in the video, the driver is rounding a corner when he suddenly sees smoke on the horizon. He pulls over to the side of the track and waits for a handful of cars to pass before exiting his vehicle. He then jumps the guard rail and attempts to warn oncoming cars about the danger.

This doesn't exactly go as planned as the coolant has made the track pretty slick and a number of cars cannot stop in time. This is practically true of the Porsche 911 that slams into the car of the videographer. Unfortunately, the chaos doesn't stop there as we can see and hear several other collisions involving an Audi TT and a BMW.

Bridge to Gantry notes 14 different vehicles were involved in the chain reaction crash and two divers had to be hospitalized with minor injuries.

Geely Jumps On The Flying Car Bandwagon, Buys Terrafugia

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 01:02 PM PST

Following reports earlier this year, Geely has announced it has purchased Terrafugia.

According to Automotive News, Geely confirmed the transaction earlier today and said the purchase was approved by regulators in China as well as the United States. Geely declined to say what it has planned for Terrafugia but the company confirmed the flying car manufacturer will remain based in the United States.

While a number of companies are working towards the development of flying cars, Terrafugia is one of the furthest along and has plans to launch its first model in 2019. The company has already logged hundreds of hours in various prototypes and has been working on the Transition flying car for over eight years.

The Transition is slated to become the company's first product and Terrafugia says it's a "folding-wing, two-seat roadable aircraft" that is "designed to fly like a typical Light Sport Aircraft in the air and drive like a typical car on the ground." The model has been designed to fit into a standard single-car garage and it can convert between flight and drive modes in less than a minute.

The flying car will run on premium unleaded automotive gasoline and it will have a cruising range of 400 miles (643 km) at speeds up to 100 mph (160 km/h). On the road, Terrafugia says the model will be capable of driving at "highway speeds."

McLaren 720S Welcomes Challenge From Pair Of 900 HP Huracans

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 12:36 PM PST

The McLaren 720S is slowly working its way up the drag racing food chain, and after dispatching an 805 HP supercharged Huracan last week, a couple of the Lambos Italian cousins sought retribution.

Featured here alongside the McLaren are two Huracans, both producing around 900 HP, but through different mods. For example, the white Huracan is a RWD LP580-2 with a VF Supercharger, sending 790 horses to the wheels - around 900 to the crank.

The green one is a regular LP610-4 with a custom twin turbo kit, putting down the same amount of power as its rear wheel driven sibling.

Of course the McLaren 720S needs very little introduction. Its power output is right there in its name, although we do suspect that the British automaker hasn't exactly been upfront about the 720S' performance figures.

So without further ado, we'll let you find out for yourselves who won these match-ups. Nine hundred horses should definitely have the Lambos covered, right? Right...?

Mercedes Launches Its Own LED Emblem Projectors So You Won’t Get Knockoffs From China

Posted: 13 Nov 2017 12:13 PM PST

You've probably seen them from third parties on eBay and Amazon, but these LED emblem projectors are the real deal as they come straight from Mercedes-Benz's customization program.

They were made for all of you Benz owners who prefer original equipment no matter the cost (Mercedes hasn't announced pricing, but we wouldn't be one bit surprised if they cost three figures) from those $15 made-in-china door LEDs that flood ecommerce sites.

They follow on from the release of another eBay favorite, the illuminated Mercedes star in the grille, and come in the form of LED projector emblems, at the bottom of the front doors.

Aimed at nearly all Mercedes models, from the A-Class to GLS, and offered in two versions - the Mercedes star and AMG logo, they use state-of-the-art LED technology, and can be installed in just a few minutes, by replacing the factory-installed entrance lighting.

"The AMG emblem shows the cornerstones of the high performance brand, Mercedes-AMG: an apple tree on the river symbolizes the location in Affalterbach, Germany. The cam, valve, and valve spring symbolize the engine manufacturing", the automaker says. "With the new AMG emblem projector, the emblem can now be projected into the entrance area, next to the vehicle in a high-tech 3D look."

Described as "a real eye-catcher", alongside the illuminated Mercedes star in the grille, the new genuine accessory part is available at Mercedes-Benz partners, at undisclosed prices that likely vary from market to market.
